tomato toes, paper doves
folded
blooms of rhubarb, pomegranates
hydrangeas blue -
we make merry, humming
or rocking on elm,
the sun finally warm,
imprinting shortbread
with knuckles, savouring
tea cups,
wreath hung and tree painted -
contemplating often
the love, joy, peace, hope
of Him.
