respite

so much to capture of late - moments of pure and uncomplicated satisfaction - visiting a nearby farmer's market and coming home with violas, lambs ears and alpine strawberries to plant in the garden,  a sunday morning blessing at church for pets (we were the only ones to bring ducks and a piglet) and delighting in those curly-wirly tails, much crayon drawing and outdoor exploring with the little ones, learning the art of good sausage making and hanging (alex being so much better at this than me), setting off for walks at dusk after I've put Reu to bed, standing beneath the budding elm tree, picnicing on the wavering grasses... we work hard, yes, but the respite is wonderful.

  2. Wonder-full!
Was the blessing for pets because of the St. Francis Feast day?
