merry-making: day three

For the body - moisturising massage bars with pure organic beeswax, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, ground vanilla bean and a hint of calendula, lavender and cloves. these are very easy to make.

(for six muffin-sized bars)
1 cup grated pure beeswax
1 cup solid pure coconut oil
2 tablespoons sweet almond oil or argan oil
1/2 tsp ground vanilla beans**
2-3 drops of calendula oil**
2-3 drops of lavender oil**
pinch of ground clove powder**

**any of these can be substituted with the essential oils and dried herbs of your choosing**

in a small saucepan melt beeswax and coconut oil until liquid - stir in almond oil and remaining ingredients. pour into silicon muffin moulds (or any shape you like) or into non-stick muffin tins that have been greased with almond oil. Let bars cool and set - about 2 hours. Un-mould bars and test on the back of your hand (if you like). You can use them as a a body moisturiser or specifically for massages! They will release oil at body temperature against the skin.

  1. These look wonderful! Thanks for sharing.
I'm glad you liked the poem I shared with the ladies at the tea party. Sending you my love and wishes for a beautiful and Merry Christmas.

  2. They look good enough to eat - first impressions were of a nutmeg covered baked custard! You wouldn't want to mix the two up!! : )

    1. hehe! yes they do look like nutmeg covered baked custard... maybe I should post a recipe for that some day :)

  3. These bars look and sound so very lovely! I would LOVE to use them!

I don't know if I can find beeswax here, though, to make these at home. :(

    1. You might be able to find a pure beeswax candle? That would work fine - just remove the cotton wick!

Thank you for reading! I do so love and appreciate every one of your comments even if I don't get a chance to reply.
