from black forest, germany

freudenstadt, 01.12.12

in the last minutes of dusk
we wander out -
satisfying out senses with
the soft crunch of white underfoot,
in the powdery ice on our tongues, melting,
the quiet bird-less whispers
of around us,
trees so black
and cream frosted,
fingers freezing,
babe humming -
lovers, us,
laughing -
winter is here
and we are celebrating
the white mysteries,
cool covering,

  1. Enchanting! I so wish it would snow here! *whimper. So Beautiful.

“All this he saw, for one moment breathless and intense, vivid on the morning sky; and still, as he looked, he lived; and still, as he lived, he wondered.” -The Wind in the Willows

  2. My mother's family is German. These past few months, Tim and I have been talking about living in Germany... How beautiful it is. I hope your time is restorative. I received your cards and wee teacup pin in the mail this past week. So very, very lovely! Thank you, my friend.

  3. Wow, Germany indeed will have a White Christmas : )

  4. Wow. What a magical foreign land.

  5. Just breathtaking. You have such a talent with the camera. I love the tranquility of snow.

  6. Looks like perfect fun outing times! Who says you need to stay indoors in winter!

  7. LOVELY pics and lovely lines to go with them. Good to see you romancing winter. :)

  8. It's all so magical, snowy, crisp, cold, mysterious and beautiful. But the seventh photo evokes the spirit of Christmas most to me - a young mother with her first born son.

  9. So very beautiful... and gosh, must be chilly. Far cry from what Australia is like right now! :)

  10. Beautiful dreamy photos! Every single one. Little Reu is so handsome- I can't believe how much older he looks... less baby and more boy :)

Thank you for reading! I do so love and appreciate every one of your comments even if I don't get a chance to reply.
