A little on us (which you likely already know):
Alex and Emily Sims are an emerging artist couple seeking to engage areas such as narrative, philosophy, belief and aesthetics through their art making. Alex has recently graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Paddington where he completed his Master of Fine Arts degree majoring in painting and multimedia. His undergraduate degree was in visual arts majoring in sculpture. Emily is a self styled children's book illustrator and writer. Emily is a recent graduate of the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Global Studies degree.

'Where Trees Meet (and other things…)' brings together a show case of the combined creative pursuits of Alex and Emily. The exhibition displays a broad cross section of the past fews years spent creating and exploring a wide range of media and topics; from whimsical narrative expressed through biro sketches, to investigations into postmodern discourse surrounding contemporary painting. They hope the exhibition will promote Newtown Mission as a cultural centre as well as build bridges between the Church and the wider community of Newtown.

Shortly after the exhibition Alex and Emily will be working in France to further their creative pursuits and cross cultural interests.
